INFORMATION FOR PARENTS
WHAT IS THE MUSIC ACCESS FUND?
A music access fund has been made available by Monmouthshire County Council to benefit pupils who are participating in Gwent Music tuition.
WHO IS IT FOR?
The fund is available to offer financial support to students who are in receipt of Free School Meals or undergoing severe financial difficulties and are committed to being a musician. Other criteria will be considered such as good attendance at school, etc. Poor attendance at lessons may result in future applications being declined. Approval must come via the Head Teacher’s signature or Head of Music in secondary schools.
HOW MUCH CAN BE APPLIED FOR & WHEN DO I NEED TO APPLY?
Applications can be made up to a maximum of £63 per child per term and can be used towards Gwent Music lessons (individual tuition or school based) and /or attendance at a Music Centre where a termly fee is applicable. A new application must be made each term. A balance payment may be required in the case of some types of tuition.
WHERE DO I SEND MY APPLICATION?
Completed and signed forms need to be sent to Gwent Music HQ as soon as possible:

WHAT IF I AM UNSUCCESFUL WITH MY APPLICATION
Applications will be granted on a first come first served basis and once the full fund has been allocated, there will be no further funding available within that financial year. Availability of the fund is subject to approval each new financial year by Monmouthshire County Council.

All applications must be received by the end of the preceeding term and funding is allocated on a first come, first served basis. Any applications after this date will not be considered.
Please make sure your form is fully completed and signed by the Head teacher at your school to support the application.
Incomplete applications will be returned and not processed.
